What is Muscle Activation Techniques (M.A.T.)?
Muscle Actviation Technqiues, founded by Greg Roskopf, is a biomehanically based process that is used to assess and address imbalances in the muscular system. It helps you to feel stronger and more stable, move more freely, perform at a higher level and recover faster.
How long are sessions?
The initial assessment session is 90 minutes, while regular appointments are anywhere from 30 to 90 minutes.
How many sessions are recommended?
This question will be answered after your initial session is complete. It is based upon your health history and current status compared to your end goal. This helps determine length of sessions and frequency of appointments.
How often do I come in?
This will be determined upon completion of your initial session. Higher frequency of sessions is recommended at the beginning and can decrease as you get stronger.
What should I wear?
Exercise clothing is ideal. However, any non-restrictive clothes that allow you to move comfortably and freely will do nicely!
How do I prepare for sessions?
Plan on arriving 5-min early, get water, change if necessary and use restroom before session time begins. Sit in waiting area and we will be out to greet you. Come rested and ready to work!
What is a typical session like?
Each session begins with a status update and checking what your body currently has available. This availability check will help determine goal for that session.
Will strengthening my muscles take away pain?
Yes. Often pain begins as a signal that something is not right. Often the symptoms are related to underlying muscle weakness. These pains diminish as your muscles get activated.
